I will be testing my system for the next few days to make sure everything still runs ok and if it does, then I'll report back with more details on that little bat file I found. Printer's Apprentice really helped make the process much easier and gave me a much better info on the fonts on my system than FontNav did-some of this info is available in FontNav but it's not as effectively accessible as it is in Printer's Apprentice. After doing some backing up and with no little trepidation, I have run the bat file and the weirdo-not-really-hidden fonts are gone! This allowed me to do a test run of a little bat file that moves those #$*()!!!! Microsoft Asian fonts () (supposedly hidden but not really). I had said that I missed FontNav's master catalogue but it has turned out that Printer's Apprentice's approach and it's interface design actually made it easier to easily find and uninstall my own fonts and I was also easily able to reestablish Win7's default fonts I had been able to move. Printer's Apprentice is certainly well worth the $9.99 I paid.'-}} I have a folder that I keep all my fonts in with a number of different subfolders and I'm thinking that given the way that Printer's Apprentice works, that it might be "better" (easier?) to create another subfolder with ALL of my fonts so that there is just one place to look for fonts you may want to install-"install" means to make the font active. BITSTREAM FONT NAVIGATOR FREE DOWNLOAD PLUSAnother plus is that it has well written documentation. There is a tab that will display the font name, character set (user modifiable), font size of all of the fonts in the file selected so that you can scroll through all the fonts in a file getting a quick visual display. There are text display tabs which allow you to select sample text and sample paragraphs (or you can use the default text), choosing the font size for displays. One cool tab is to show you the keyboard layout for the font which I think will be very handy for ornament fonts for example. Some tabs have suboptions like font size, grid size (when displaying the character set map). Printer's Apprentice provides quite a bit of different information using a tabbed info section where the order of the tabs is user selectable. Printer's Apprentice does not use that master catalogue approach so it's a bit less flexible than FontNav in that respect. What I really liked about Font Navigator was that you could create a master font catalogue and then easily and visually pick and choose which fonts you wanted to make active.
